My Approach

“As a teacher, educator, and mentor I have worked in both private and public schools in West Los Angeles for 30 years.

During this time I saw the immense need for children to have teachers who trust their perception, help them make sense of what they’re noticing, and remind them that their learning styles are not an aspect of themselves to fix or fear, but part of how they learn. I also observed many parents who needed someone to help them navigate the ups and downs of parenthood particularly when their child struggled. Yet there was often a lack of resources and time to be as supportive as I wanted. So I decided to became an academic and social/emotional coach. Today I cultivate a strong partnership with families where parents can receive specific support unique to their situation and their child can develop a stronger sense of self both academically and emotionally.

As a parent I often struggled to find self-compassion in the midst of taking care of my own children, one of whom is neurodivergent.

My journey as a mom continues to teach me that I need to shed my agendas and expectations of my children because they more often than not stem from a very limited place/mind-space. When I intentionally work on self- compassion I am able to release my kids from meeting my needs so they can blossom as the unique individuals they are. It is not an easy process but so worth it. It’s what compels me to help other parents to feel supported and seen.”
